Polymer modified asphalt mix should be placed and compacted at a temperature between 155 to 165°C. This temperature range is critical for ensuring that the polymer additives are adequately integrated into the asphalt matrix, achieving the desired performance characteristics, such as improved flexibility, resistance to deformation, and overall durability of the pavement.

At these temperatures, the viscosity of the asphalt mix is optimal, allowing for better workability during placement and sufficient compaction to eliminate air voids. If the temperature is too low, the mix may become stiffer and harder to compact, leading to weak pavement structure. Conversely, if the temperature is too high, it can excessively degrade the polymer or the asphalt binder, compromising the mix's longevity and overall performance. This careful balance is essential for the successful installation of polymer modified asphalt.
